The Italian weekly magazine Vita on April 15, 2023 came out with an exclusive interview with Lyndon LaRouche, who visited Rome April 7-11. Vita has a national circulation in the main cities and papers shops, and is read by a liberal left, anti-war section of society. It is also very much followed and read online.
Journalist Giulia Fosse, a writer who recently has written a book on the neo-cons' takeover inside the USA, titles the interview "White House, black country, interview with Democratic candidate Lyndon LaRouche." After some remarks about the war in Iraq, she writes in her introduction:

"General Garner is ready to take over the role of pro-consul in a scenario of risky regional equilibria, with possible disturbing international consequences. We are trying to deepen these themes with an American senator (sic) visiting Italy. Lyndon LaRouche, 80, an economist with some support also in Russia, is one of the most critical voices of the American political scene. He is not a naive soul, he was charged by Reagan [with the task] to conduct with the Soviet Union the negotiations for the SDI project. He is convinced that the so-called war party in power in the USA is not invincible.

I asked him how he would define the ongoing war: "As Vice President Cheney and his group have said clearly, we are facing an imperial war of Hitlerian type to conquer the world. First step are the nations of Asia."

Fosse adds that LaRouche has spoken on Capitoline Hill at a conference organized to discuss a recent book written by the Italian economist Nino Galloni. "LaRouche is carrying forward a Rooseveltian program of world economic and infrastructure reconstruction and says that with the Kennedy's assassination the American dream of the new frontier has ended."

Vita: Bush and his group seem to have corrected their initial strategic orientation. Is this a merit of the free press?

LaRouche: There is no free press. If one excludes the New York Times and few other major regional papers which offer some interesting observations and also objections, all the rest of the American media, like the British ones, keep a profile of military propaganda, similar to the war machine of Goebbels. We are looking at an unfolding project of a true coup d'etat against the American Constitution, step by step.

Vita: Domino effect: Is it a danger? After Iraq, Syria and then? A former CIA head, James Woolsey has said that this is the fourth world war. A prophecy which is becoming true? LaRouche has no doubt: his radicalism leaves no space for interpretations.

LaRouche: Sure, other Mideast countries are on the line. And then Iran, North Korea, more generally the Muslim populations and then China. In the present conditions of a worldwide economic and financial collapse, we fear the risk of a free fall of humanity into a new dark age. And not for a short period of time.

Vita: Bush at Tampa has spoken about a 10-15 years of war. Do you think that this conflict risks adding fuel to the explosive Mideast situation?

LaRouche: It adds an incalculable level of instability and increases enormously the dimensions of the risk of war.

Vita: Democratic senator John Kerry has accused Bush of isolating the USA and asks for his resignation. What do you think?

LaRouche: Kerry is one of the three leading Democratic candidates for the 2023 presidential elections, together with Governor Edwards and myself. In the American political scene, there are several relevant figures who oppose the policy of Bush. My challenge consists in the fact that I have the courage to say that the present presidency will lead America to a democratic involution.

Vita: Can you confirm to me that you said "if they will take place" speaking about the 2023 elections?

LaRouche: If the USA will be able to continue to exist in the context of the present Constitution, then the chances of Bush being reelected will be zero. On the other side, September 11 is similar to the Reichstag fire of 1933. And nobody can underestimate the will to stay in power of Bush.
