Excellent Report On LaRouche, |
Politica magazine, published by the Ocho Columnas daily with a circulation of 25,000 in the Guadalajara area, ran a three-page spread on the August 22-23 "Mexico-Brazil-Argentina: The Hour of Integration" seminar organized by the Ibero-American Solidarity Movement, under the big headline, "Financial Neocolonialism, Similar to Communism," and a kicker: "It is necessary to unite against the strongest, says economist Lyndon LaRouche and ex-President J Lopez Portillo."
"Finish off the sovereignty of the Latin American countries by making them ever-more dependent with their foreign debts; drag the Latin American countries to financial suicide by imposing upon them an economic system which is already dead; and dismantling the Armed Forces, are some of the red flags which the great powers seek to achieve in their expansionist interests. The alert was issued by economists, intellectuals, retired military, and politicians, during the continental seminar. The motive is the already unsustainable and extraordinary financial crisis which the world is going through, and which, if not solved, LaRouche said, ‘could bring the world into a new Dark Age like that of the 14th Century. To solve the crisis, Ibero-America and the United States must form an alliance, such as that forged by Abraham Lincoln and Benito Juarez to defeat both the British monarchy and the Hapsburgs, in the 19th Century,'" the Politica article opened. LaRouche's opening presentation is then quoted extensively, as he is described variously as a Presidential pre-candidate, an intellectual, and an economist. Brief excerpts from the remarks of Jose Lopez Portillo (JLP), Argentine Col. Mohamed Seineldin, and Brazilian Vice Adm. Sergio Tasso are also reported, including the former Mexico President's statement, that "if we want a better world, and we do want it, we must march towards a New International Financial Order which responds to the needs of the powerful countries, and those which, not being so, wish to solve the social problems of their national populations." An accompanying box on "The History of Operation Juarez," features Lyn's description, in his speech, of his meeting and discussions with Lopez Portillo in 1982, and the study that resulted. "Had they adopted Operation Juarez, the Ibero-American countries 'would have been able to defend themselves and also win the United States, the Government of the US, to cooperation with them,' the economist and intellectual explained. ‘Unfortunately, that did not occur. Henry Kissinger went to Mexico in October, for example; other pressures came down; U.S. State Department officials, from that point on, said, ‘This guy LaRouche will never be allowed in Mexico, again.' It was too dangerous for Mexico,'" Politica wrote. -30- Return to the Home Page |
