LaRouche on Dominican TV's "Revista 110" |
On his 80th birthday, an hour long interview of Lyndon LaRouche was shown on Dominican Republic Television. The interview was played on Julio Hazim's "Revista 110," the nation's most important political commentary/news show program, which aired on television (regular Channel 13 and cable Channel 53) and the "Voice of the Tropics" radio station. The interest in the show was seen in the decision of the cable 53 TV to rebroadcast the interview that same night. The interview, conducted by Dr. Cristino Del Castillo, was filmed during the Labor Day weekend annual ICLC-Schiller Institute conference in Northern Virginia. Dr. Hazim built the audience for the interview on his Sept. 6th program, inviting his viewers to tune in on Sunday to see "the controversial U.S. economist, Lyndon LaRouche, who has been right in all his forecasts. Although we don't belong to his movement, I believe that it is necessary to see him and listen to him carefully." Various people immediately called LaRouche's representative in the Dominican Republic to congratulate him on the interview. One political leader swore it was the best interview he had ever seen with LaRouche. (Remember that several interviews with LaRouche have been broadcast in the Dominican Republic over the past 15 years). It provided an up-to-date orientation on what is going on in the world, he said, which provides a guideline to any country which seeks to struggle for a peaceful resolution of its most pressing problems, without distinction of race, creed or ideology which at any particular point could divide the world into two factions. There are also plans for the interview to be broadcast also in the U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. -30- Return to the Home Page |
