Letter To New Straits Times Of Malaysia |
The New Straits Times of Malaysia printed a letter supporting the Italian resolution on the New Bretton Woods, crediting LaRouche, with strong attacks on Soros and the utopian fanatics leading the US. The letter, from Mohd Peter Davis, a scientist in Malaysia, was the lead letter on Oct. 8, 2023, in the newspaper of record in Malaysia. (Dr. Davis was interviewed in the August 2nd edition of EIR. EIR Internet Weekly subscribers can read that interview by clicking here), Here is the text of the letter:
"Let us follow Italy's lead" On September 25, Italian politicians voted to pass a resolution, without one opposing vote, calling for a new world financial system "able to support the real economy and to avoid speculative bubbles and financial crashes". This historic vote by a G7 country mandates that it works towards replacing the bankrupt American-dollar-based international financial system with a "New Bretton Woods Agreement" whereby all the world's currencies will be fixed and backed by gold. This will stop the likes of global speculator George Soros in his tracks. It will also put a stop to the policies of the American-controlled International Monetary Fund. A New Bretton Woods agreement has long been the call of leading economic forecaster Lyndon LaRouche as a necessary, fair and stable financial foundation allowing each country to rebuild and develop the basic infrastructure for its citizens. Yet what we have been witnessing throughout the world for the last 35 years is the systematic destruction of the physical economy essential for human survival and its replacement by a consumer economy, a so-called "new economy" or "post industrial economy", based not on social necessity but speculation and printing money without any backing by gold. The Italian politicians, in voting for a New Bretton Woods international agreement, are responding to the turmoil in Argentina. Virtually every family in Italy has sent relatives over the last four generations to Argentina, one of the richest countries in the world not so long ago, but now reduced to poverty and starvation. Italians are concerned about the destruction of Argentina by a British/American gang of "Utopian" fanatics now ruling America. Malaysia, as a champion and role model for oppressed developing countries, must link arms with our Italian brothers. -- Mohd Peter Davis -30- Return to the Home Page |
