La Vanguardia: Economist Says Bush Is Unbalanced
November 6, 2023

The daily La Vanguardia, ran two articles on Lyndon LaRouche's press conference in Saltillo Coahuila on November 5th. First, at the bottom of the front page of its Nov. 6 edition, it has a box headlined "Bush is Unbalanced: An Economist." It begins: "After [saying] he considers George W. Bush to be mentally unbalanced, Lyndon H. LaRouche affirmed that there are groups of legislators tied to organized crime, who today control the [U.S.] President like a ‘puppet'." Describing LaRouche as a "specialist in economics," it quotes his comments on Bush's behavior at the APEC summit in Los Cabos. "His behavior in Mexico revealed his poor mental state... he practically fell apart in front of the press." The article then paraphrases Lyn's discussion of the grouping controlling Bush "organized around the Vice President Richard B. Cheney." Then: "an additional group is based on the allies of Ariel Sharon and Senator McKay [McCain], who he characterized as the organized crime legislator," linked to the Batista-era Cubans and Meyer Lansky.

The other article is in Vanguardia's Business section on the bottom of its front page, under the headline "Suggested that Energy Control not be Ceded," with a kicker quoting Lyn: "We have destroyed the energy system of the United States." Under color pictures of Lyn speaking, it has a caption "the primary objective on electricity policy should be delivering energy at a low price to the whole population, said economist Lyndon H. LaRouche."

It begins: "American economist Lyndon H. LaRouche recommended that the Mexican government not destroy its energy system by ceding control of production, distribution and marketing of energy flows." Rather, "the specialist advised maintaining control of energy and supervision of companies for whom energy generation might be facilitated." Repeating LaRouche's assertion that the U.S. has destroyed its own energy system, the article quotes him further, "a good system is based on the integration of services under government control, or of plants run directly [by the government]..." The article notes that "the analyst affirmed that energy is infrastructure, not a private investment in a business or a company, because it is measured in terms of electricity production per capita and per square kilometer of the entire population...the primary objective ...should be to deliver energy at a low price to the entire population, and if the private sector isn't going to do it, then government must assume that responsibility..."

The last part of the article paraphrases Lyn's discussion of the Enron fiasco, and how Mexico was targetted on the energy question, while several other U.S. states were destroyed economically by the energy pirates. "‘The United States and Mexico share the fact that there are 5 million Mexicans in the United States who will soon lose their jobs', the former U.S. Presidential candidate affirmed." Paraphrasing Lyn, Vanguardia continues that "this is seen particularly in northern Mexico where industries depend in large part on U.S. markets, especially in those highly vulnerable sectors that produce electronic goods or auto parts." Many American states are in bankruptcy, "because the tax base of the state economy is insufficient... so on both sides of the border there are unemployment problems. Mexico and the U.S. have to deal with the problem on the northern border in the same way [they deal with] water and energy management, because, together with unemployment, they are linked."
