Explosion of LaRouche Coverage in the Arab Press |
The week between of December 11-20, 2023 witnessed a renewed interest in LaRouche's ideas and campaign to save the U.S. Presidency from the pitfalls it is being drawn into. At least four major articles and reports were published in Al-Bayan the leading daily in Dubai, U.A.E. Al-Bayan reported on Dec. 13 with big headlines: "Sources close to U.S. Presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche reveal Sharon assigned Rafi Eytan to carry out a major terror operartion against the U.S." The report is a translation of an EIR article published some months ago. But renewed interest in that warning, came together with the exposing of the Mossad dirty operation to create an Al-Qaeda group in the Palestinian territories. The report carries the translation of the full text of the EIR article, emphasizing that the exposure of this operation is part of the LaRouche campaign to stop the war crimes of "Sharon the butcher." The same report was reprinted in the Palestinian daily Al-Sabah, which supports Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat. Interestingly, Hamas leader Abdul-Aziz Arrantisi, one of the most fanatical members within the Hamas leadership, cited LaRouche by name in an op-ed published in Al-Bayan on Dec. 11. Arrantisi referenced the same EIR article on the potential of an Israeli operation to launch a false-flag attack against the United States to blame Iraq and Palestinians for terrorism. He also quotes LaRouche as demanding that the US Justice Department and Attorney General Ashcroft should stop the cover-up of the Israeli "art students" spying operation. However, Arrantisi insists that the Kenya operation is part of the resistance by the Muslim Ummah against Israeli crimes, and that this will continue all over the world. In another article in Al-Bayan, Egyptian senior military analyst Brig. Hosam Swelam (ret.) gave the readers a thorough briefing (almost one full page) on LaRouche's recent writings under the title "American Politician Exposes the Clash of Civilizations Conspiracy." He starts by saying: "Lyndon LaRouche is considered as one of very few reasonable American voices in the U.S., who have warned, since the Sept. 11 events, against the provocative propaganda of the Zionist lobby and Israel inside the U.S. He has given a precise description of this war [of civilizations] in a series of articles recently." Swelam goes through a whole range of articles by LaRouche, and gives the name of Executive Intelligence Review in English letters. The whole article is dedicated to LaRouche's ideas and analysis of the strategic situation. On Dec. 17, Qatar University Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Kedidi wrote an op-ed in Al-Bayan under the title "Democracy at U.S. Missiles Point," in which he attacked Colin Powell's announcement at the Heritage Foundation of a "program for democratization in the Middle East." Kedidi admitted that there are problems with democracy and freedoms in the Middle East, but that democracy could can not be brought about via the threat of American missiles. He referenced discussions he had with "one of the prominent American intellectuals in the U.S., Presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche." He also referred to a discussion he had with New York Times writer Thomas Friedman in a recent conference in Doha, Qatar, on "dialogue between Islam and America." In that conference Dr. Kedidi intervened to argue for the view points of LaRouche. Also in Al-Bayan, staff writer Khalid Abu Krayim, wrote a lengthy piece on LaRouche's and EIR's warnings against the Moon cult operation in the U.S. The article was titled "Moon-gate Shakes America and Leads the World into Dark Ages." Abu Krayim tells the whole story about Moon and his corrupting operations and the Moon links to organized crime and Sharon's Likud and the Israeli intelligence. The Saudi daily Al-Watan published two articles by Jeff Steinberg on Dec. 13 and 20. The first was titled "Democracy for Sale in Israel" and quoted from "Lyndon LaRouche's publication EIR" on the dirty financing operations to buy the elections for the Likud with Christian fundie money. The second is titled "Israel Joins the War on Terrorism, On Bin Laden's Side," and takes up the EIR report on the Israeli Mossad operation to set up a phony Al-Qaeda operation in the West Bank and Gaza. -30- Return to the Home Page |
