The Michigan Daily Covers The Visit of Amelia Boynton Robinson to Campaign for LaRouche
October 2, 2023

Amelia Boynton Robinson, the leading civil rights leader in the world today, campaigned for Democratic Presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche at the University of Michigan. Robinson's campaign was covered by the campus newspaper, The Michigan Daily.

The article was entitled, "Pres. candidate LaRouche spurs support, controversy", written by Ashley Dinges, quotes Mrs. Robinson and a member of LaRouche's youth movement.

"Robinson expressed the belief that seven-time candidate LaRouche is continuing what her fellow activist, Martin Luther King, Jr., began".

She spoke of her fight for voting rights, "I was not afraid and I would not run.  I was appalled that human beings would beat others."

In her comments of LaRouche, Robinson said, " I thought to myself, `This man's program is doing what we had been trying to do for 40 years--To lift up humanity and get people to think for themselves.'"

The reporter cites LaRouche's platform which, "centers on global development and domestic economic recovery.  He has spoken out against the U.S. occupation in Iraq, saying the United Nations should play a greater role in the country's reconstruction."

The article also quotes Abdul Muhammad, a member of LYM, saying that, despite what he calls a media smear campaign, he remains steadfast in his support for the candidate.  Muhammad continues, "Opposers make up excuses to deny him a voice in the debate.  It's getting to the point where they can't slander him anymore."

Although the article mentions that the University's College Dems have dissociated themselves from LaRouche, they include two very positive responses from students who actually met Amelia.

The paper circulates to 18,000.
