LaRouche in 2004 Press Release Lyndon LaRouche Files In Vermont MONTPELIER, VT (Nov. 14) -- With today's filing of over 2,685 petition signatures in Vermont (more than twice the number required), Presidential pre-candidate Lyndon LaRouche has now filed for the Democratic primary ballot in five states and has already been certified for the ballot in four. Campaign organizers filed the petitions with the Secretary of State's office today, en route to Middlebury, VT where LaRouche was scheduled to address a candidates' event sponsored by the College Democrats. LaRouche was the first candidate to file in Vermont, the home state of Howard Dean. Here is a summary of the ballot registration activity by the LaRouche in 2004 campaign around the country: On Nov. 3, LaRouche was placed on the California primary ballot by the Secretary of State as a "nationally recognized" candidate. He filed in Missouri, home of Attorney General John Ashcroft and Sen. Richard Gephardt, on Oct. 31. LaRouche was certified for the ballot in Washington, D.C. by the Board of Elections on Nov. 7, along the nine other nationally recognized candidates, five of whom have now withdrawn under pressure from the DNC. On Nov. 11, campaign supporters filed LaRouche's candidacy in New Hampshire and on Nov. 14 in Vermont. LaRouche expects to be certified in Vermont by next week and his campaign committee expects that he will be filed in 2-3 more states by Thanksgiving. LaRouche is also one of only two candidates certified for matching funds by the Federal Election Committee (FEC). - 30 -
