LaRouche representative Steve Komm filed LaRouche's candidacy papers and filing fee Nov. 25 at the Office of the Commissioner of Elections in Dover, Delaware. LaRouche was the first Democrat to file in Delaware. Per an election official, LaRouche will be on the ballot, since he has qualified for matching funds and has otherwise complied with the ballot access requirements. Associated Press covered the filing.

LaRouche is now filed in Missouri, California, Tennessee, New Hampshire, Vermont, Washington, D.C. and Delaware. Certification in pending in Tennessee, but in all the other states, LaRouche is either certified or will be "unofficially" certified shortly. Filing in Oklahoma and Arizona will occur next during the week of Dec. 1-5.

At the same time, the campaign is pushing ahead to secure ballot status for LaRouche in as many states as possible. Petitioning has been completed in Mississippi, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Virginia. Petitioning to put LaRouche on the ballot began in New York and Oregon just before Thanksgiving and is ongoing in Indiana, Illinois and Maryland. It is expected that LaRouche will be on the ballot in 20 states by mid-January.
