Ballot Status Update:
LaRouche files in New York and is certified in Maryland
January 5, 2023

On Jan. 2, Lyndon LaRouche was placed on the Maryland Democratic primary ballot by the Secretary of State as one whose "candidacy is generally advocated or recognized in the news media throughout the United States or in Maryland." The decision is indicative of LaRouche's widespread support, fundraising ability, and media recognition, both in Maryland and throughout the country.

Also on Jan. 2, petitions containing 25,000 signatures to place LaRouche on the New York Democratic primary ballot were submitted in Albany. In addition, delegate slates were filed for 18 Congressional Districts with 33,000 total signatures for LaRouche delegates. LaRouche also submitted petition signatures to qualify for the ballot in Ohio on Dec. 30. In two states which hold party-run primary contests, Michigan (caucus) and South Carolina (primary), LaRouche supporters filed the necessary documents and/or fees to qualify him. It is not known at this time whether the Democratic Party in these states will permit LaRouche's name to appear on the ballot.

LaRouche is now filed for the ballot in 16 states and the District of Columbia and certified in 13 of those. He is now certified for the ballot in Maryland, California, Missouri, New Hampshire, Delaware, Tennessee, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Oklahoma, Arizona, Virginia, Texas and Washington, D.C. He is filed, but not yet certified in New York, Ohio, South Carolina, or for the Michigan caucuses.

He will be filing in Mississippi, Illinois, Wisconsin and Nebraska during the week of Jan. 5-9 and in two more the following week.
