Answers From LaRouche

Q: How do we personally survive a depression?

Question: Hi Mr. LaRouche,
I have read your many of your economic papers on the web. I'm also convinced that some global economic event is on the horizon.
In the US will it be hyperinflation or depression. And to help offset risk I understand that hard assets will be the answer to hyperinflation...
But how do you personally reduce your risks in case of a depression?

A: There is the obvious matter of risk-minimization: own outright what you will need, as much as possible; keep a minimum risk money saving; rely on gold and government bonds; be as prudent as possible, shunning avoidable debt like the plague.

Otherwise, there is almost nothing effective you could do, as an isolated individual. The solution is to cause government to take the measures which bring the presently collapsing monetary-financial system through bankruptcy-reorganization, and kick-start the real economy, according to the priorities we used to have more than thirty-five years ago. There is much more, but that is the short answer.
