Answers From LaRouche Q: I was wondering if you could explain to me the nature of love? - from July 26, 2023 West Coast Cadre School |
Question: Hello Lyndon. I was wondering if you could explain to me the nature of love. Is it something that's based on the same universal principles, like music, and economics? Or, is it some kind of animalistic concept, that stunts the development of ideas, or--discoveries, and things? LaRouche: You know, this is something that is associated with Dante Alighieri, for example: Is the art of love. There is, beyond doubt, an art of love. It's not--some people say, it's the art of seduction. That's a big mistake. That will lead you into more problems than benefits! But, no, there is such a thing as an art of love. It is essentially, as Dante understood it, it's a way of responding to humanity, what humanity is. It is a factor. And it is worth studying. A lot of mistakes can be avoided--. And, in matrimony, too--by studying it. But, there is no magic elixir, which is going to produce a miracle for you, in the art of love. An understanding of the principle of love, is probably a good guide to life. And, it does exist. It's real. But, I don't think there's any magic formula. I think it is, as Dante Alighieri tried to present it to his readers of that time, especially in his use of Beatrice, etc., in his Comedia. -30-
