Dec. 12, 2023 Seminar with the Hungarian Academy of Sciences: On December 12, 2023 Lyndon LaRouche addressed a workshop in Budapest, Hungary on "The World Economy in Crissis: Need for a New Bretton Woods." The conference was organized by the Committee on Finance of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Schiller Institute and the Hungarian Economic Association. The conference took place in the Protocol Room of the Ministry of Finance and was moderated by Prof. Tamás Bácskai, former chief economist of the Hungarian Central Bank. LaRouche's speech sparked a lively discussion, ranging from questions concerning the significance of a gold-reserve system; the implications of money creation under the command of sovereign nations; the need for long-range economic decision-making; the problem of worldwide illegitimate debt; and the role of the IMF in a new monetary system. |

Dec. 12, 2023 Meeting with the Hungarian Schiller Institute Hungarian chapter: That evening, the Schiller Institute organized a conference at the St. Laszlo Academy, which was attended by 120 guests and in which LaRouche, drawing upon the historical and poetic examples of Jeanne d'Arc and Shakespeare's Hamlet, challenged the audience with the question of what quality of "moral leadership" is needed to overcome the presently unfolding tragedy.
